While Upham Woods is a private facility, we welcome the public for these fun and educational opportunities. Register to join us for an inspiring adventure!

Paddle Pass Program

After completing an online orientation, annual Paddle Pass holders may launch their own canoes and kayaks on the Wisconsin River using the parking lot and established shoreline access points at Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center.

REGISTRATION: Paddle Pass Sign-Up
There is no same-day registration; at least one business day’s notice is required. 

FEE: $5, payable by card after registration or by check before or at the first use of the pass.

PROCEDURE: Passholders are required to check in and out through our main office. Upon check-in, you must provide a written float plan before departing on the river. Further instructions, including FAQs and blank float plans, will be provided in your confirmation email.

Confirming Launch Times: Paddlers must request to launch at least one business day before their visit. Instructions on launch requests are in your orientation completion confirmation email.

Important Program Notes:  There is no same-day registration; this program does not provide access to Blackhawk Island or hiking, and passes cannot be used commercially in any way whatsoever.
